Find Mio Tea at Moss Park Espresso: Taiwanese Tea Gelato in Downtown Toronto

Good tea should be easy to find. That's why we're happy to share that Mio Tea's teas and tea powders are now at Moss Park Espresso, a much-loved neighbourhood café at 185 Queen St East in downtown Toronto.

Next time you're on Queen East, look for their house-made tea gelato, made with our Taiwanese tea powders.

About Moss Park Espresso

Moss Park Espresso is a small, locally owned café tucked downstairs beneath a plant shop, just steps from the Old Town and Moss Park neighbourhoods. Regulars come for Italian-style espresso, house-made gelato with rotating flavours, and fresh cannoli.

It's also a café with a real sense of community. Moss Park Espresso supports local artists and has become a warm gathering spot in a part of the city that is changing fast. For a small tea brand like ours, that kind of place is exactly where we want to be.

Why Tea Powder?

Our tea powders are made by finely grinding real tea leaves, so the whole leaf goes into your cup. For a gelato maker, that means:

  • Consistent flavour in every drink, cup after cup
  • Smooth blending — it mixes evenly into milk and cream, so the tea flavour runs through every scoop
  • Versatility for gelato, lattes, and baking

And because the flavour comes from the tea itself, there's no added flavouring — just tea.

The Teas Behind the Bar

Moss Park Espresso makes its tea gelato with two of our powders:

Red Oolong Tea Powder — A more deeply oxidized oolong with notes of ripe fruit, natural sugarcane sweetness, and a smooth roasted finish. It has the body of black tea with the layers of an oolong. Shop Red Oolong Tea Powder.

Ruby Black Tea Powder — Made from Taiwan's famous Ruby Black Tea (Taiwan Tea No. 18), with distinctive hints of cinnamon, mint, and malt. Bold, balanced, and excellent with milk. Shop Ruby Black Tea Powder.

Our Teas, Too

It's not only gelato. Moss Park Espresso also carries six of Mio Tea's teas, so you can enjoy Taiwanese tea the classic way:

  • Kinsen Oolong — creamy, smooth Jin Xuan oolong with a naturally milky aroma
  • Lychee Kiss Oolong — honey-sweet oolong with a ripe, fruity fragrance
  • Pomelo Blossom Oolong — oolong scented with fresh pomelo blossoms
  • Whisky Oolong — oak-aged oolong with warm, woody depth (alcohol-free)
  • Honey Black Tea — naturally sweet Taiwanese black tea with honeyed notes
  • Osmanthus Black Tea — black tea paired with fragrant osmanthus flowers

Whether you're a tea regular or a coffee drinker trying something new, it's an easy way to discover the teas behind our brand.
